Do you have or know of any children/young people, aged between 4 and 16 years old, who enjoy creative writing, spoken word, sporting, team-building, problem-solving, logo-design, interviewing, fine art, performance, music, song-writing and construction activities; and have a local connection to Central Acton (W3) and its neighbouring areas? If “Yes”, then if applicable, why not register them to participate in WAPPY’s popular Young Ealing Foundation-funded, Building Bridges project?
Based around the theme of ‘Building a Bridge’, its objectives are to bring young people together from diverse ethnic groups/social backgrounds, with varying skills and abilities to engage them in teamwork, problem-solving, and ‘hands-on’ construction activities to develop a range of creativities, to be presented, exhibited and showcased.
The project also includes a Community Games Day in Walpole Park (2-5 pm; Saturday, August 2nd) plus hosting an End of Project Showcase (which will be attended by a celebrity guest artist).
Building Bridges encourages self-expression, confidence, self-empowerment and provides a child-centred forum of dialogue for members to develop a cultural and social understanding of self, their peers, adults, and wider communities they encounter.
If interested, please see the attached Flyer for details and get in touch via wappy@live.com to request a Registration Form. You can download the form here too: Registration Form
Families who are residents in Central Acton and its neighbouring areas will be prioritised, though exceptions can be made for existent WAPPY members and new siblings. Here is our promotional video.
Please feel free to circulate. Thank You!
